June 24, 2013 A True Argentina Dinner

Our family has great Home Teachers.  As soon as he found out that Connor was going to Argentina on his mission, they came for a visit and gave us all kinds of information about the country.  Argentina is known for it's beef which Connor is very excited about. He worked at the local Grocery Store in the Meat Department and learned about the different cuts of meat and learned to appreciate good tasting steak.  Well, he wanted to plan a dinner with our family and cook an authentic Argentine Dinner.  So we did.  It consisted of Empanada filled with a meat mixture with hamburger, green olives and hard boiled eggs, Skirt Steak Grilled with Chimchurri Sauce, a tomato with avocado and harts of palm salad with a lemon vinegarette, German Potato Salad with peas and carrots, and a grilled beet salad with chopped apples and almonds with a yummy dressing.  And for dessert, we had thick hot chocolate and Churros (even though it was about 115 outside).  Everything was so yummy.  We will never forget this dinner!  Thank you Hal and Kay!
